Happy happy music =)
Dec. 15th, 2004 07:27 pmStan talked me out of going to table tennis today, and we ended up being so much more productive elsewhere anyway :P
Having nothing better to do, I caught a bus with him to Bondi Junction, whereupon we got indian food for lunch (my lunch, his breakfast). The samosa was damn good. Then, I decided to go iPod shopping at long last, so we trekked over to Dick Smith to take a look around. Between Stan and friend David, I'd been convinced to buy a 20GB iPod rather than an iPod mini, on the basis that I'd run out of space quickly with only 4GB. It's a fair point, seeing as I already have 2.6 GB in my library at home.
When we got to Dick Smith, I also checked out the Creative alternative. The 20GB version of the Nomad, the Zen Touch, turned out to be somewhat chunkier than the iPod... but for the same price ($499) it had twice the battery life, and Dick Smith were offering a bonus remote/FM reciever with it.
Took it, got the counter, and grabbed a spindle of CD's because I was out. Turned out, the price on the shelf was wrong. It was on $448, which made Avi a happy happy customer :P
So I now have a very funky 20 GB media player, at long damn last. w00t; seeing as my previous player was an old Sony CD walkman with no mp3 capabilities. I had to tell Stan not to touch it before we got back to his place several times, and then not to damage the packaging once I did get to opening the thing.
Surprisingly, though, at least to me, I'm kinda lacking in IRL excitement. I have a nice machine, but I guess I'm too used ot always listening to music on my PC, anyway. I guess I'll probably appreciate more at school, and on camp, which is in two and a half weeks =D
